⚡ Rapid Screening of Ion Channel-Impairing Proteins

IonNTxPred – Rapid Screening is a fast, rule-based module designed for instant identification of ion-channel modulators using cysteine composition (AAC_C).

Instead of deep learning, this module applies experimentally corrected probabilities derived from large datasets (Table-4) to estimate the likelihood that a peptide acts as:

  • 🧩 Na⁺ channel modulator
  • 🧩 K⁺ channel modulator
  • 🧩 Ca²⁺ channel modulator
  • 🧩 Other ion-channel modulator

🧬 How it works:

  1. The percentage of cysteine (AAC_C) is calculated for each peptide
  2. AAC_C> is mapped to statistically corrected probabilities
  3. Both Modulator and Non-Modulator probabilities are reported
