DescriptionRetinoic acid receptor RXR-beta-B;Alternative Name: Retinoid X receptor beta-B;Alternative Name: Retinoic acid receptor RXR-delta;Alternative Name: Retinoid X receptor delta;Alternative Name: Nuclear receptor subfamily 2 group B member 2-B
Source organismDanio rerio (Zebrafish) (Brachydanio rerio)
Taxonomical ClassificationEukaryota; Metazoa; Chordata; Craniata; Vertebrata; Euteleostomi;Actinopterygii; Neopterygii; Teleostei; Ostariophysi; Cypriniformes;Cyprinidae; Danio.
Subcellular locationNucleus
Developmental StageExpressed both maternally and zygotically.
Similarity Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR2 subfamily. Contains 1 nuclear receptor DNA-binding domain.
Tissue SpecificityShows uniform expression from the blastula to mid-gastrula stages. At 12 hours post-fertilization (hpf), expressed ubiquitously but more weakly. At 24 hpf, restricted to the ventral diencephalon, pharangeal endoderm and trunk and tail mesoderm; mesoderm expression is in medial cells of each somite along the dorsoventral axis, forming stripes. At 48 hpf, expressed in forebrain, eye, midbrain and anterior hindbrain.
Post translational modificationN/A
Function Nuclear hormone receptor. Involved in the retinoic acid response pathway. Does not bind 9-cis retinoic acid (9C-RA). Transcriptionally inactive on RXR response elements. May function to negatively modulate thyroid hormone-dependent transcription.
