Similarity search is the most widely used method of functional annotation. If a protein of unknown function shows similarity with a experimentally annotated protein, then unknonw protein can be predicted to have same function. Keeping this in view, BLAST search was provided to predict protein that can be a hormone. User can do BLAST search of their protein against HMRbase. The server provide option to modify different parameters like scoring matrices, gap penalty, word size etc.
