Algorithm - TNFepitope

TNF-α is animportant inflammatory cytokine which play major immune responses. The body uses TNF-α for a variety of therapeutic purposes, including immunostimulation, resistance to pathogens, and resistance to tumours. To the best of our knowledge, till date no method has been developed for predicting epitope or antigenic peptides that can induce TNF-α. First time an attempt has been made to develop a method for predicting TNF-α inducing/non-inducing epitopes. The prediction server for TNF-α inducing epitopes has been designed in a very user-friendly manner. Here, on this page, user can get the details of all the algorithms and procedures exploited in the diferent modules.

Main dataset
Positive:
It comprises of 1215 and 539 TNF-α inducing epitopes for humans and mouse, respectively.
Negative:
It comprises of 1312 and 539 experimentally validated non-TNF-α inducing peptides/eptitope.
Alternate dataset
Positive:
It comprises of 1215 and 539 TNF-α inducing epitopes for humans and mouse, respectiely. Negative:
It comprises of 1215 and 539 randomaly generated non-TNF-α inducing peptides/eptitopes.
