This page provides help to the users of ThPDB2 database on how to efficiently use various modules to facilitate searching among therapeutics peptides/ proteins. For each module which is implemented in ThPDB2, here we provide the description on how to use that module. The information about the general modules are provided here.

Basic Search This module displays the basic search page of ThPDB2. Clicking on the required field will allow the user to browse the specific information in the database. The "Select Fields to be SEARCHED" section provides options for various keywords through which search can be made in ThPDB2. The users can select fields to be displayed from the section "Fields to DISPLAY".The users can click on each THPP_ID to get all the details regarding the entry and can also click on peptide/protein IDs to know information about that therapeutic protein.

Advanced Search This page provides the advanced search facility in ThPDB2. The users can browse the page by selecting multiple fields using AND/OR/NOT operators. This search module allows user to perform search on any or all fields of ThPDB2. It also allows to DISPLAY all field or user selected fields.

Browse by Disease Type The users can browse the therapeutic protein/peptide in this database for different disease classes like Cancer, Infectious diseases, Immunological diseases, Cardiac disorders, Hormonal disorders,Neurological Disorders and many others. By clicking on different types of disorders/ conditions, user will retrieve a set of entries for each type. Each record contains THPP_ID which is linked to the detailed information for each therapeutic peptide/proteins.

Browse by Drug Form In this module, users can fetch therapeutic peptide/protiens based on their druggable form/ physical appearance. These are classifed in Solution, powder, liquid, cake, suspension, tablet, capsule, spray etc. By clicking on different types of forms, user will retrieve a set of entries for each type. Each record contains THPP_ID which is linked to the detailed information for each peptide.

Browse by Pharmacological Class The user can browse this module for the details of pharmacological class of a given protein/peptide. This module have several class types such as antibodies, enzymes, antineoplastic agents, hormones, immunosuppresive agents, fibrinolytic any few more.

Browse by Route of Administration This module is designed to enable users to browse the repository on the basis of therapeutic peptide/protein route of administration types. This module classifies our data in Subcutaneous, Intravenous, Intramusular, Oral route, Topical use, Inhalation, Intravitreal etc.

Browse by Target Types This module is designed to enable users to browse the dataset on the basis of therapeutic peptide/protein target types. This module classifies our data in Receptors, Factors, Proteins, Enzymes, Hormones, Inhibitors etc.

Tools

BLAST Search This option allows users to search protein/ peptide sequences similar to their query against a database of therapeutic peptide/proteins sequences maintained in ThPDB2.

Smith Waterman Algorithm This page perform local alignmnent and provides similar regions between two strings of protein/ peptidesequences.

Mapping This page allows users to perform similarity search against sequences in ThPDB2. User can submit their sequence; server will return the list of hits similar to the query sequence.
