NF-kappaB activation was clearly reduced in the presence of test compounds 1-3 (1 µM), whereas compound 4 had no effect . In contrast, p65 translocation from the cytoplasm to the nucleus was inhibited by all four test compounds. Compound 4 again exhibited a different behavior in that its effect was dependent on the amount of LPS stimulation time. Finally, all four ent-kauranes tested were found to inhibit the LPSinduced degradation of IkB .19719246
