To investigate the effects of azadirachtin (135 µ M)and nimbolide (5 µ M) on the expression of markers associated with cell survival, proliferation and apoptosis, we analysed the mRNA and protein expression. Quantifi cation of each band by densitometric analysis revealed signifi cant increase in the expression of p53,p21, I k B, Bid, Bad, Bax, cytosolic cytochrome C,Apaf-1, caspase -2L, -6, -8, -9 and -3 and PARP cleavage.
