Baicalein suppressed the 12-Lipoxygenase protein expression after treatment with baicalein for 8 h.12-Lipoxygenase converts arachidonic acid to 12(S)-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (HETE), a bioactive lipid implicated in tumor angiogenesis, growth and metastasis. Therefore, 12-LOX may play a role in the progression of cancer in human tissue, and its inhibitors may become anticancer agents in human cancer.
