Eriocitrin isolated from the peel of Lumie fruit showed inhibitory activity against PMNL 5-LOX .From dose-response curves of eriocitrin,inhibited formation of 5-HETE is observed, and 5-LOX catalyses the intial step in the formation of 5-HETE and leukotrienes, which mediate allergic and inflammatory responses.
