Method | Stock solutions of dipeptides were prepared by dissolving 0.1–1 mg of them in 50 μl of HFIP. Solution heated and sonicated to dissolve the dipeptide. Assembly was initiated by addition of double-distilled water (1 ml) to the stock solution. Samples were aged 24–48 h before experiments. |

Method | A 50 mg/mL HFIP solution of Phe-Δphe added to 0.8 M sodium acetate buffer to get a final concentration between 0.2-1% w/v at pH 7. The mixture was then boiled in a boiling water bath for 15 min or in a microwave oven for 3 min and cooled back to room temperature to form gel. |
