Welcome to CancerPPD 2.0

CancerPPD 2.0 is a repository of experimentally verified anticancer peptides (ACPs) and anticancer proteins. It is an updated version of database CancerPPD created by our group. Data was curated manually from published articles, patents as well as from other repositories. We have predicted tertiary structures of anticancer peptides using state-of-art method PEPstrMod and secondary structure states are assigned using DSSP. The database provides detailed information of peptides including sequences, chemical modifications and structures. CancerPPD, aims to provide a unique resource for experimentally verified anticancer peptides and proteins. The latest version, CancerPPD 2.0, contains more than 1600 unique peptide entries. Notable additions also include a peptide card with visualizer, literature information related to the peptide, and a CancerPPD 2.0 REST API for programmatic data retrieval. Integrated web-based tools include keyword search, data browsing, and sequence and structural similarity search, making CancerPPD 2.0 a valuable resource for designing peptide-based anticancer therapeutics.

About CancerPPD 2.0

Aim and Objective: The main aim of this database is to assist the scientific community engaged in developing anticancer drugs. We have made an attempt to collect and compile all the scattered information related to ACPs and anticancer proteins with a vision to help both bioinformatics and experimental researchers working in the field of ACP-based therapeutics.

Search Options: The database offers i) Basic Search which allows the user to search in any field or against multiple fields. By default, it searches against major fields. It also allows the user to DISPLAY desired fields of the database. ii) Advanced Search allows user to construct queries in order to search the database using multiple queries joined by logical operators like AND/OR/NOT. This search module allows user to perform search on any or all fields of the dataset. It also allows to display all field or user selected fields.

Browse: Modules under this section allow the users to retrieve data in a classified manner. These modules allow the users to browse various Anticancer peptides and protiens based on several properties/categories.

Tools: Modules under this section integrates various web-based tools for performing various analyses like sequence similarity search, peptide mapping and structure alignment.

API: CancerPPD 2.0 data is accessible using simple URLs (REST) that can be used in programs.

Mobile Compatible Website: CancerPPD 2.0 is built using bootstrap framework so the website is responsive and is compatible for desktop, tablet, and smartphone.
