BacVacDB contains 371 vaccines entries and this information is curated from relevant literature, websites and existing databases. The following page contains necessary screenshots regarding the different modules in BacVacDB to assist users.
Search the database using one particular Keyword. User can
search using the following fields - Disease Name, Name of the vaccine, Name of bacteria, Type of vaccine, Clinical Phase status (Approved or Clinical), Route of administration. Below, you can select what information is to be displayed pertaining to the particular keyword.
This feature allows the user to query BacVacDB database on multiple attributes of a vaccine like - Name of the vaccine, Name of bacteria, Type of vaccine, Clinical Phase status and Route of administration. User can combine multiple conditions with AND, OR, NOT, <, > , = to filter the search.
BacVacDB allows users to browse the database based on various features such as mentioned below.
1. Browse on Bacterial Diseases - Browse the database on the basis of the bacterial disease (Diphtheria, tetanus, typhoid etc).
2. Browse on Bacterial Names- Browse the database on the basis of name of the bacteria (
Corynebacterium diphtheriae ,
Salmonella typhi etc).
3. Browse on Vaccine Types- Browse the database based on the type of vaccine (Inactivated, conjugate etc).
4. Browse on Route of Administration - ​Browse the database according to the route of administration (Intramuscular, Oral etc).
To view detailed information about any vaccine, from the results page of Search or Browse, select on the ID column of the row you are interested in. This opens a vaccine card which shows manually curated information about that vaccine.
