Basic StructureO-specific chain of Shigella flexneri 6 lipopolysaccharide was found to be composed mainly of rhamnose, N-acetylgalactosamine and O-acetyl groups. The structure of which is as follows: --[3-GlcNAc-1-->3-Rha 1-->2-Rha-1--]n,where the terminal rhamnose residue may be linked to another rhamnose residue via 1-->4 linkage.
