rhinacanthins-C and -N treatment caused the activation of caspase-3 in a dose-dependent manner after 48h exposure, whereas the activity was decreased at a highest concentration of rhinacanthin-Q. Rhinacanthin-N (90 mM), the most effective drug, induced a marked increase in caspase-3 activity to 2.5 fold over the control cells. .
