| Cohort | Here recruited 20 patients who satisfied the following criteria: (a) type 2 DM patients diagnosed by an endocrinologist at Konkuk University Medical Center, Seoul, Korea, before inclusion; (b) patients able to participate in a series of clinical trials, such as stable sampling, at the judgement of a clinical researcher; and (c) patients who voluntarily agreed to participate in this clinical trial and who provided signed subject agreement. We also recruited 20 controls who satisfied the following crite- ria: (a) without history of DM; (b) with records of regular check-ups within 3 months showing fasting serum glucose levels < 5.6 mmol/L; and (c) no recommendation for further DM work-ups or required visits to an endocrinologist. |
