Disease Introduction MechanismMucormycosis infection is a rare, rapidly progressing and often fatal disease caused by the Mucorales fungi. This type of infection is opportunistic and affects m a i n l y immunocompromised patients suffering from severe underlying conditions such as hematological disorders, organ transplantation or longstanding diabetes.
