| Cohort | The present study was conducted at Virgen dealas Nieves University Hospital, Granada (Spain). All participants enrolled were Caucasian and resident in the Granada urban area. All subjects (patients and healthy controls) gave their written informed consent to participate in the study, which was approved by the ethical review committee of our institution. The population consisted of 275 participants (144 immunocompromised haematological patients and 131 healthy controls). |
