Disease Introduction MechanismInvasive trichosporonosis (IT) is an uncommon but frequntly fatal mycosis in immunocompromised patients with a high mortality rate (60–70 %). Trichosporon asahii (T. asahii) was demonstrated to be the major species of invasive Trichosporon infection. In 2003, we identified the first case of disseminated trichosporonosis in China caused by T. asahii.
