Welcome to DMPPred

DMPpred is a web server developed for scanning antigenic regions in a protein (e.g. food protein) responsible for Type 1 diabetes. It also allow users to design non-diabetes peptides or proteins. This server will be usefull for researchers working in the field of vaccine design to identify and remove diabetes associated antigenic regions. This server can also be used to identify genetic modified foods that induce type 1 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes, occurs when the pancreas do not produce enough insulin due to destruction of pancreatic β-cells mediated by auto reactive T-cells resulting in chronic insulitis. There are a number of antigens that induce autoimmune response against β-cells, leading to Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). In this study, for the first time an attempt has been made to develop a method for predicting, designing and scanning of T1DM associated peptides with high precision.
