MicrobeSalmonella enteritidis   (NCBI Taxonomy)   (Drugpedia)
Basic StructureSalmonella enteritidis lipopolysaccharide is composed of high-molecular-weight (HMW) LPS and low-molecular-weight (LMW) LPS. The HMW LPS O-antigen polysaccharides are comprised of two different repeating units, -[-->2)-[α-Tyvp-(1-->3)]beta-D-Manp-(1-->4)-α-L-R hap-(1-->3)-α-D-Galp-(1-->]- (structure I) and [-->2)-[α-Tyvp-(1-->3)]β-D-Manp-(1-->4)-α--L-R hap-(1-->3)-[α-D-Glcp-(1-->4)]α-D-Galp-(1-->]- (structure II). The LMW LPS contains truncated O-antigen polysaccharide which is comprised of only structure I.
