DescriptionRecName: Protein embryonic gonad;Alternative Name: Protein eagle;Alternative Name: Protein spready;Alternative Name: Nuclear receptor subfamily 0 group A member 3;
Source organismDrosophila melanogaster (Fruit fly)
Taxonomical ClassificationEukaryota; Metazoa; Arthropoda; Hexapoda; Insecta; Pterygota;Neoptera; Endopterygota; Diptera; Brachycera; Muscomorpha;Ephydroidea; Drosophilidae; Drosophila; Sophophora.
Subcellular locationNucleus (Potential)
Developmental StageN/A
Similarity Belongs to the nuclear hormone receptor family. NR0 subfamily. Contains 1 nuclear receptor DNA-binding domain.
Tissue SpecificityDuring embryonic stages 10 and 11, expression was observed in four neuroblasts, NB2-4, NB3-3, NB6-4 and NB7-3. Except for NB6-4, expression reaches a maximum at the very beginning of expression or in the period of neuroblast delamination. Weak expression is also observed in a few putative progeny of NB7-3 during late embryonic stage 11 and 12. All eagle expression in abdominal segments disappears by stage 13.
Post translational modificationN/A
Function May play a critical role in development of the progeny of eagle-positive neuroblasts.
